Brenda Flores, LPC
Brenda Flores is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Illinois. As a dedicated therapist, Brenda brings a compassionate and adaptable approach to her practice, shaped by her work with diverse populations.
Brenda specializes in supporting clients through anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and cultural identity challenges. She works with a wide range of clients including young adults, teenagers, kids, the BIPOC community, first-generation college students and graduates, and immigrants. Her approach is trauma-informed, blending Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, play therapy, mindfulness, and culturally sensitive care. Fluent in Spanish, Brenda offers therapy in clients’ preferred languages to deepen connection.
Brenda helps clients build healthier coping skills, manage stress, and grow in self-compassion. She loves empowering clients to gain confidence in facing life’s challenges. Her drive to become a therapist comes from witnessing how emotional support transforms lives—she aims to equip clients with tools to navigate their journeys.
One memorable moment in her practice reflects her heartfelt approach: Brenda once helped an 11-year-old grieving her father’s death by drawing flowers, lighting a candle, and singing “Happy Birthday” to honor him. When the client saw Brenda tear up, she shared, “I’m happy we’re celebrating your dad, and sad he’s not here.” Her empathetic, supportive, and humor-receptive nature shines through in moments like these.
Outside of work, Brenda enjoys dancing, tending to her plants, and relaxing with friends or shows.
