Wanting Walker, LPC

Wanting Walker is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a deep commitment to helping individuals thrive. As an experienced therapist, Wanting specializes in depression, anxiety, trauma, parenting issues, and relationship challenges, including couples and parent-child dynamics, serving adults and teens (14 and older).

Wanting’s practice is built on empathy and insight, using approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and Gottman Institute guidelines for couples. Occasionally presenting on mental health to the Taiwanese Asian community, Wanting brings a culturally informed perspective that clients say offers fresh views on parenting, communication, and confidence-building. Her goal is to help clients establish self-worth, identify support systems, and break free from feeling stuck.

Clients appreciate Wanting’s ability to foster growth—whether it’s gaining confidence to set boundaries, overcoming trauma, or rediscovering joy. Wanting’s journey into therapy began after college, when she fell in love with counseling during an internship focused on families. Realizing individual growth drives family change, Wanting shifted to working one-on-one, a passion that continues to guide her practice.

Wanting’s style shines in her understanding of life’s balancing act—juggling personal and professional stress, parenting, and relationships. Wanting’s clients find her to be empathetic, compassionate, patient, funny, professional, insightful, and supportive, often using humor to lighten the journey. Clients leave with stronger coping skills, improved relationships, and renewed hope.

Outside of work, Wanting enjoys traveling, gardening, watching movies, and cycling. Wanting is excited to meet you where you are, tailoring therapy to your goals, and helping you find your path forward!
